Bullish Flickers, Global Breakouts, and a Volatility Watch: Market Pulse for Late April 2025

This week’s market action offers early signs of bullishness — but conviction will take time. New highs are shifting upward in price, led by international names like $GRPN, $SBS, and $ICL under $20, and big moves from $DB, $GRND, and $EWP in the $20+ category. Volatility is calming, but $VVIX levels still flash caution. Meanwhile, $BTC.X just flipped bullish — a signal worth keeping on your radar. Here’s the full breakdown, plus the stocks I’m watching next.

Market Overview: There is a bit of bullishness to notice this week. Nasdaq flipped bullish but I need 2 weeks in a row to believe in it.

New Highs $5-$20: The list is getting smaller because this week the higher priced stocks had more strength. You can still find $GRPN ( ▼ 1.79% )  $SBS ( ▼ 0.92% )  $ICL ( ▼ 2.44% ) on the list. It’s primarily ex-🇺🇸…which is what I expected in last week’s edition.

New Highs $20+: Buy $DB ( ▼ 3.54% )  $GRND ( ▼ 2.82% ) or Spain $EWP ( ▼ 1.51% ) this is a random list of tickers. But we do see more highs coming this week from other areas. It’s not all metals anymore! We now have fertilizer stocks like $IPI ( ▲ 6.11% )

Turbulence Indicator: It’s stable. Volatility fell this week. Prices were mostly stable but the level of the $VVIX ( 0.0% ) is still a bit too high for me. If the price of $VVIX ( 0.0% ) stays under $100 we may have an opportunity to see $VIX ( ▲ 6.6% ) at the end of it’s range.

Looking Ahead: $BTC.X ( ▼ 3.31% ) went BULLISH this week since 4/21/25. That’s something to pay attention too for the rest of the week. It can be a early-sign or false-positive.

Market Performance Framework

SPY and DOW Jones were both up for the week. Nasdaq was down…interesting. Overall we need to see more time to determine if this is a trend change or counter-trend bounce.

  1. Indicator Update:

    • No indicator flips but the turbulence indicator is stable. The price rose slightly. There is opportunity, potentially, this week will tell us much more.

I certainly see a place where we can see BULLISH flips this week.
